Cecile Silcock

TEACHER & PRINCIPAL

Cecile started Ballet at the age of 4 where she grew a foundation training in the I.S.T.D Cecchetti Method with Principal Russian dancer, Irina Zyrianova for 8 years. She went on to train with Senior Examiner and former Principal in PACT Ballet, Joy Cooper for 6 years.

She joined the Tshwane Youth Ballet Company at the age of 12 and performed in various ballets naming; The Sleeping Beauty, The Snow Maiden, Cinderella & Then & Now.

Cecile holds an Associate Teaching Diploma from the Cecchetti Society. She ran her own ballet studio in South Africa (Cecile Brits Ballet Studio) and also taught Dance Studies, at Reddam House School, before moving to the United Kingdom.

Since, Cecile teaches at various private schools around London and at CSBS (East London & Woking branch). Cecile has enrolled various candidates in the Cecchetti ISTD Ballet Exams for the past 6 years with excellent results. With a great love for the creative arts and a passion for dancing, Cecile lives to enrich the dreams of aspiring young ballet dancers.

Anita Garcia Grosse

TEACHER & ASSISTANT

Anita began dancing at the age of 3. She began studying classical dance at the age of 6 using the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) method. She completed her professional training as a Contemporary Dance Performer at Balleteatro in Porto in 2014, gained wings and flew to Cyprus to begin her academic career in 2017 at the GAU-PERA Dance Faculty.

She has lived in London since 2018, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) in Contemporary Dance and a Masters of Arts in Choreography at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance. She currently teaches classical ballet and creative dance, as well as choreography at several dance studios in London. She teaches ballet to adults and at various nurseries for CSBS.

Mia Weiss

TEACHER

Originally from sunny South Africa, Mia is a I.S.T.D qualified Cecchetti Ballet Teacher who’s been dancing since the age of 3 and teaching for over 8 years. She’s also completed her R.A.D Advanced 2 exams, and loves blending the best of both ballet styles into her classes.

Mia’s passion is helping young dancers grow in confidence, resilience, and self-expression, and she’s all about encouraging them to take up space! Ballet has shaped who she is today, and she brings that love for movement into every lesson.

Giulia Càrastro

TEACHER

Giulia Carastro is an Italian-born dance artist and teacher based in London. She began her ballet training at the age of four, studying Vaganova, Cecchetti, and French ballet methods.

Over the years, she has trained under the guidance of Maki Nishida and Piero Ferlito at ASDC Dietro le Quinte, as well as learning from renowned teachers and artists including Yannick Boquin, Paris Opera étoile Isabelle Ciaravola, Blerina Bela Arbana, and the Académie Princesse Grace director Luca Masala.

In 2021, Giulia moved to the UK to specialise in Contemporary Dance and graduated with First Class Honours in BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

With ballet remaining at the heart of her love for dance, Giulia is passionate about sharing her knowledge, discipline, and enthusiasm with the next generation of dancers.

WE TEACH THE CECCHETTI METHOD

The Cecchetti Method is a respected classical ballet training system developed by the Italian dancer and teacher Enrico Cecchetti (1850–1928). Known for its emphasis on correct technique, musicality, balance, coordination and expressive movement, the method provides dancers with a structured and progressive approach to learning classical ballet.

Enrico Cecchetti trained many influential dancers and teachers, helping to shape the development of classical ballet internationally. His teaching principles were preserved and developed by later generations, ensuring that his approach continues to influence ballet training today.

In 1922, the Cecchetti Society was established in London to preserve his teaching methods and ensure that future generations could benefit from his work. The Society became affiliated with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) in 1924, bringing the Cecchetti Method into the organisation’s established system of dance education and examinations.
